Mystery, magic and romance all in one brand: Scarlet Darkness

A dress is a way to express yourself and stand out, but many times you prefer to conform to the crowd because original clothing requires "courage" especially when you are a teenager.

Scarlet Darkness was born from a love for gothic, steampunk, Renaissance and Victorian style clothing and has revisited these styles in a modern way, thus promoting a rebellious woman who challenges those who want her in a "classic" context with the infamous outfits that society deems appropriate based on body type or age.

Originality does not mean making ordinary clothes because Scarlet Darkness uses quality fabrics as well as an important attention to detail. The clothes of this brand are recognizable because they are unique, and it is very difficult to find corsets, lace, accessories and clothes in general made with such care. The materials used to produce these crazy outfits are: cotton, linen, viscose, polyester, chiffon and velvet and all the garments are hand-dyed thanks to a process called Vintage-Washed that gives them depth, contrast and personality.

One thing I really want to say is that the production facilities are in the USA, Germany, Hong Kong and India, and Scarlet Darkness pays all employees and craftsmen a living wage without the use of child labor. Another important thing is that Scarlet Darkness has a dedicated quality control department and all stages of production are done internally without the use of subcontractors.

I have always affirmed and promoted originality in dressing as it makes us unique and creative, I have never liked the famous "social college" where everyone dresses the same way and I have tried to transmit this "freedom" to my daughter. I must also add that I love gothic or steampunk style clothes in an excessive way and when I happened upon Scarlet Darkness' Instagram page, my eyes turned into hearts and that's how our collaboration was born.

We had the opportunity to choose some outfits and we gave our contact person a range of suggestions… obviously which outfit “won”? The one proposed by Lucrezia consisting of a flared swing skirt, a blue floral corset and a Renaissance-style shirt. The package arrived in less than 7 days and from the moment we opened it, we could understand that the quality of the fabrics is really good and the beauty of the three pieces is indisputable.

Obviously before wearing the three pieces, I washed and ironed them according to the brand guidelines, then tested them further and they remained perfect.
The fabric of the skirt feels soft to the touch and the quality is obvious, you can really feel it… not to mention the corset: a love!!!

The corset has the classic satin laces on the back, but to make it as comfortable as possible, they added a completely invisible zipper on the side that does not take away the “Renaissance” idea at all.

Lucrezia did the makeup and hair in theme with the outfit she was wearing and the result was a SPACE combo! When we went to do the photo shoot some “curious” people asked me where it was possible to buy those beautiful and particular garments.
